Kyra

Beauty, Youth, Sensuality, and Loyalty to her friend Wisdom, dark-skinned Halfland mermaid, Kyra, enchants us to follow her into this in between place. She always brings a gift from the sea when she visits Rana. Today we follow her there.

Shelley Noble: A unique folk tale featuring sentient chimera from an otherworldly place where everything is half of something else. The artwork is crafted from discarded material, fallen branches, and humble cardboard. Halfland is the allegorical tale portraying what makes us fully human.

Here we go! Let's film these little jewels! Tiny, brief sequences of Halfland action to be released with regularity at this tiny Home Theater in YOUR home! Eliya Eizerikova captured this selfie of us during her stop motion boot camp she created to give me the know-how and courage to create this film. (Bless her) Let's DO THIS!

Rana

Wise Goat Woman, Rana, whose animal half is usually hidden beneath her layers of skirts. She lives in the perfect warmth of Summer during the day, taking cover overnight in her cozy half tree half cottage to endure the Winter cold darkness of night. She keeps Time and weaves as she observes the Seasons move in measures across Halfland.

Urhu

Serpent Sage Musician, Urhu, half serpent, half man, lives in the golden sands of the Secret Season where he plays sacred instruments that can encourage our best thoughts to grow and flower.

36 minute, in depth documentary-style interview that John Ikuma filmed, edited, and produced about the project. Halfland featured in his web series, In the Shadows of Light: episode 2. A tour of the loft workshop and all that was going on in Halfland back in 2010.
