Just came across these images of English actress Y Fitzroy taken by portraitist Alexander Bassano. The backdrop in them is EXACTLY my ideal for the Halfland set. Everything, the foreground dimensional trees, the increasingly distant trees painted on the backdrop, the shadowy obscuring. It's precisely what I'm aiming for.
Kyelynn and I have already made cardboard flap supports surrounding the entire main set and hung a series of printed backdrops on the walls to act as underpainting for landscapes and skies. Here she is taping down loose bags of crumpled brown paper that will raise the ground cover layer in small hills and foreground terrain. Now you, too, can see where I hope to get it all by seeing the images at the top.
