Pokey Planting

I bought an alloyed steel piercing tool, possibly more than 20 years ago. I glued it into a golfball-sized rubber stopper when its original handle came off, then I added a wooden disk to the top of that when the steel broke through the stopper last month. Then I wrapped the whole thing in fancy mummy style with waxed thread, so I can continue to use it. It's the single most-used tool I have. For what? For making holes in walls as quick pilot holes, holes in cardboard sets for planting grass, as seen below. The steel tip still pierces everything, no matter how much I've abused it.

The place I got it is no longer in business but I found one that may hopefully work as well
