Tiny Tunes

Well, I tried hard to avoid it. But I must relent. The mushroom cafe party will have a band. This is the guitar, festooned with party flowers.

I had the misfortune to have the idea that the bug party needed a "No Lady Lady Bug" smoking a cigarette, with too much make-up playing the bass cello, legs akimbo, wearing torn stockings in her high sparkling red heeled pumps.

Got the cello going and her leg armature so that her toes can tap. Planning a tom tom tomato drum, grass blade xylophone, and twig clarinet as well. The rest of the players will be as simply rendered and plain as I can make them.

  1. What a marvelous idea, I'm looking forward to meeting your No Lady Lady Bug!

  2. i wish i could be there! sounds like a good time. i'd be a moth caterpillar sipping sloe gin in my sooty black cowl, maybe nibbling a bite off of a toadstool when no one was looking...

things are looking so good, i can't wait for the premiere!

  3. Wonderful stuff!!!

  4. Thank you kindly, Karen, sylvï, and Jeff!

This is exactly the kind of vote of confidence I was hoping for! Much better than the, "Are you mad?!" I might have gotten.

I get possessed by these ideas and making the characters and props is about the most fun I can imagine!

    Please stay tuned! HA!

  5. Hey Shelley!

Wow it's crazy to see all of the progress bars jumping up in green :) Being a hobbyist musician myself I love what's going on here, very creative band set.

I also picked up The Fall this morning, going to pop that in tonight - can't wait for it! Couldn't resist after seeing your recommendation / praise haha.

Hope you're doing well! Seems like the project is still a continuous blast. Cheers to you!

  6. For sure, Tony! I look forward to your take on the The Fall!

  7. YEAH......the FALL is an awesome flick....I instantly fell in love with the whole thing.

your lovely instrument is pretty badd ass too!!

  8. Thanks, Justiggity! xoxo

  9. You write, "The rest of the players will be as simply rendered and plain as I can make them."

    – That's a good one! ;)

I love the baroque outcomes of your creative work! I say, go for it! xoxo

  10. Touché my friend, touché. You caught me.

Paul and I have a running joke in our house that whenever one of makes a ridiculous, yet earnest, declaration about something we won't do anymore the other one says "oh, Hans..." referring to the line on the Danny Kaye Hans Christian Anderson movie when he tells Peter that he wrote write anymore stories.

    hee hee.

    xoxox Thanks for the encouragement!

  11. Going for Baroque! (makes a joke in English b/c it sounds like "going for Broke!" and expression of giving it all.)
