Dear Hila

Hello Hila Rosenberg Arazi, I just found your portfolio site through a friend and I absolutely ADORE your model design and construction!! I adore it so much that I almost want to dislike you because of your talent. It's just petty jealousy, I won't let it last!

I understand even though you're an Aussie now, you graduated in 2004 from "Bezalel" Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem. Your miniature sets and 3D illustrations are so beautifully detailed and rich with delight and loveliness. They are places one wants to move into to live.

I can't wait to see your new 3D animations, Agora, The turned furniture in The Pillowman is exquisite, The eight sets you built for Cluttered are mind-bogglingly fine work, they all look fully fanciful and extraordinary.

Almost hating you but also wishing you the best of everything in life and your freelance creative work, Cheers!

Shelley, I gave Hila your blog address when she contacted me, (a week or two ago) did she write? She seems amazingly talented, young and full of enthusiasm!!! I think you two have a lot to share!!!

  2. Gosh thanks, Ulla! No, I just sent her the email as written above today after seeing your post about her!

It's really not fair how skilled and accomplished she is, and pretty too?! It's too much. Argh.

    well... here it is again:

I've been enjoying "Notes from Halfland" for almost a week (thanks to Ulla), I love your work and wish I could be a part of such enchanting project, but I'm so far away... Australia.
Anyway i thought and hoped you might like to see my work, I make sets for stop motion animation, have a look...

  5. Holy Sweet Mother of All Cows! Hila, no! I didn't get an email message earlier--what fun you wrote! YES, I surely surely did like to see your work, as you can tell!

Having you look in on this site every once and a while as I get further along would push my good fortunes over the top! The happy would be revved to an *eleven* if you know what I mean. I can't believe you been visiting!

I'm hoping you'll let us know when and where and how we could see your animations?! Are you working on something that excites you right now?

That was so nice of Ulla to pass along my address to you! (Thank you Ulla!)

  10. I Know you Guys, Isn't she incredible?! Her films are like the perfect blending of fine artistry, detailed miniatures (for those of us that love that), stop-motion 3D animation (ditto), filmmaking, and meaningful storytelling. A rare treasure.

She tells me that we'll soon be able to see her stop-motion film, Agora, online! I'll keep you all posted. Other wonderful things are in store for Hila.

And thank you, Corey, It hadn't heard of Inspirecompany before you added it into the list above. It has about 10 people in common with other handi-craft blogs I read daily. Isn't it strange how communities, even online, are self-selecting?! Simply fascinating to me.

  11. Ulla, You don't want to get me started on the power of blogs and the internet in general! I could, and often do, wax on (and off) about what having own blog for this project has done for me already just since last April, and over the last 5 years through reading other people's. I will say that it isn't at all likely that I would have otherwise met Mike Brent, my friend and animation mentor, or any of the other wonderful artists that visit here without blogging. It's added so much richness to my life. From your comment I gather to yours as well.

  13. And here's one more, Hila. My husband said tonight that when he clicked on your page his first thought was that you were someone worth knowing. I can't imagine a better accolade!
