And Then something Magical Happened
One of my most delightful moments in all of Halfland making, the bug Party set completed, I hit it with small blacklight flashlights, and the whole thing burst into one of the most magical wonderments I'd ever seen.
In my last shop post, I mentioned the unusual pale orange glow-in-the-dark power I bought, and I thought it might be interesting to use it on extra botanical lanterns for additional bug party decor. It required multiple tests to get it to glow orange instead of the typical green. But after a couple of coats had dried, I installed them on the set with the closest faux leaves to Alkekengi I had on hand. They really did add a lot of height and depth to the scene. And when I lit them with the blacklights...
The entire set became a wonderland before my eyes.
It was so dreamy and enchanting that I reacted as I hope eventual viewers might,
with big eyes and bigger smiles.
The orange lanterns behind all the festivities did indeed look as I'd imagined them. Super fun and natural. Everything decorating the party was awash in a bioluminescent glow, painted on the insects and old chrysalis so long ago I'd completely forgotten I'd done it. This party is finally fully ready to kick off. Let's GO!
Lovely bokeh and shallow depth of field. Exquisite!
